The Scottish Borders Business Excellence Awards 2025 (SBBEA) have not only celebrated the region’s thriving business community but also delivered a lasting impact for local families. Thanks to the generosity of attendees, sponsors, and supporters, the event raised an incredible £1,900 on the night in aid of Cash for Kids Borders. To round things up, the Scottish Borders Chamber of Commerce contributed a further £100, bringing the grand total to an amazing £2,000.
Supporting Families in Need
This vital funding will directly support children and families across the Borders facing hardship, especially as the winter months approach.
Following the awards, Roz Haughey, Engagement Manager at the Scottish Borders Chamber of Commerce, met with Carly MacKenzie, Charity Manager at Cash for Kids Borders, to officially hand over the donations and present the symbolic “big cheque.”

Carly shared her gratitude on behalf of the charity: “Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. These funds will help support families and children in the Borders affected by poverty during the cost-of-living crisis. Without support like this, change wouldn’t be possible – you’re making a real difference.”
Awards Highlight the Power of Community
The SBBEA has long been a highlight of the Scottish Borders calendar, shining a spotlight on the innovation, resilience, and passion of businesses and individuals across the region. But beyond the trophies, the awards also demonstrate the power of the business community to give back and create meaningful change.
”“It’s truly inspiring to see how much generosity and goodwill came from this year’s awards."

Looking Ahead: Continuing the Spirit of Support
Looking ahead, the Chamber is committed to continuing this spirit of support. As part of its upcoming AGM & Coffee and Connections event on Tuesday 18th November at Tweed Horizons, attendees will be invited to join another community initiative, a festive “bring a gift” drive for Cash for Kids’ annual Mission Christmas campaign. This drive will help ensure that children in need across the Borders wake up to a gift on Christmas morning.
Roz Haughey, Engagement Manager at the Chamber, said: “It’s truly inspiring to see how much generosity and goodwill came from this year’s awards. To be able to hand over £2,000 to Cash for Kids Borders shows the strength of our community when we come together. We’re so proud to play a small part in supporting families across the region.”
Thank You to All Supporters
The Chamber would like to thank everyone who contributed on the night, from guests and sponsors to local businesses and individuals, for making this achievement possible.
