New Funding Opportunity – Multiply Workshop Fund

The Multiply Workshop Fund is open to applications from Monday 16 October to Sunday 12 November 2023.

We are looking to hear from local sole traders, small businesses, community groups and other organisations who are able to deliver free, short-term workshops as part of a new Multiply Adult Learning Programme (19+ years). This programme will support adults to:

  • feel more confident when using numbers in everyday life
  • increase their confidence with numeracy
  • improve their health and wellbeing through socialising, feeling included and learning a new skill or hobby.
  • The aim is to provide a range of short workshops to suit any level, beginner to advanced, so that adults can sign up to an activity which allows them to learn at their own pace.

These workshops will run from 18 January to 28 March 2024. Delivery costs should be no more than £2,000.

Workshop activities could include:

  • cookery
  • art
  • crafts
  • computing
  • orienteering
  • DIY

Below is an example course outline for a Crochet for Beginners with Multiply workshop:

“During this six-week course, you will learn the basic skills, advanced techniques and how to read a pattern. You’ll be guided through everything from choosing the correct yarn to executing tricky stitches. Following a pattern and counting stiches will form our numeracy element of this course. At the end of the programme, you’ll possess all the knowledge you need to create your next crochet project as well as making new friends along the way. Crochet is incredibly versatile, and the only equipment needed to crochet are a hook and your choice of yarn.”
